DEBATING WITH MYSELF

I will admit that I have been rather lax in my blogging as of late. With two boys under the age of 6, both in school; with a wife who is a teacher; and with me being a principal of a high school...........not to mention my proclivity for running, I just have not been able to find the time to blog.

I went on Twitter, which really seems to be a medium that I am much more likely to use.....I guess my attention span is so short that 14o characters is about all my brain can handle, to see what others thought about my blogging.

I asked my friends if it was time for me to delete my blog. Mind you I have been doing this for about three years, my wife uses my blog to keep up with what is going on in my brain, and apparently I have a few people who actually read the CRAP I write on this blog. The consensus was that I should keep the blog and just add posts WHEN I CAN FIND THE TIME.

I, however, being the guilt ridden soul that I am, find it hard to keep a blog that I am not keeping up with. Especially when I spend so much time getting joy from the blogs of those people I frequent on a weekly, if not daily, basis. I have a hard time using them for my enjoyment without putting forth my part.

So I ask: is it okay to be a constant blog reader and not a regular blog poster? You tell me....what should I do?

I've fallen into the constant reader-infrequent poster category and am still alive, so I'm sure it'll work for you, too. People understand. That's life, and it's great that the reason for not blogging is you chose to spend your time focused on your family, etc. Plus, the fact that you used the word "proclivity" buys you at LEAST a couple of months off.

You keep writing, even occasionally and we'll keep reading ;-) Once a week, month, race, whatever works for you. But I'll check your Twitter feed too!

An occasional post is better than it going away. It's fun for me to read your posts when you do get them out, you may find that as winter descends you may feel more like posting, if not, so be it and you should have no guilt regardless.

I am able to post more often as I haven't figured out why I would use twitter or facebook and my kids are 16 and 22 which means I have more time.

Keep running and take care of your family and post when you feel like it.

I agree with all above (including your brain trust consensus). I honestly don't see a problem with getting less active in reading OR writing. I'd say that deleting the blog would harsh - I'd keep it open for a race report here and there.

BTW - wow, 3 years of bloggin? I had no idea!!

I think alot have fallen into the same trap. I myself haven't blogged in over a month. Today was the first time since 9/9/9. hhm is that a bad sign? Read if you want. Blog if you want. No one can honestly say either is wrong. You're not hurting anyone. do what you have time for. I blog for myself and to ease some of my stress. And it is easy on my legs than running. :)

Dang, where would I get my Craig if you leave??? Holy cow what a great pic of you and the MRS. Hottest Principal & Hottest Principal's wife award. LOL

Where is that video again?

I went through this. If you're in a feed (in mine), I'll get the post when you occassionally post it (i know that's not spelled right)...

Don't stop blogging, because sometimes...as much as I love Twitter, 140 characters just isn't enough.

Screw guilt. It's Marathon Weekend bitches!!!!!!!!!

I come from a long line of military men. In fact, it was my life-long dream to be a pilot in the Air Force...but due to circumstances beyond my control (lack of perfect eyesight), that dream was ot able to be realized. So, I stumbled into a new dream....attempting to become a world class educator. I am still a work in progress in the classroom, and on the roads.
