I have been hit with a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis recently.
Like most men, I have tried to ignore it, but does not work.
I have taken a day off every other day, and after today I figured out that this does not work either. I got 4 miles into my 5.3 mile run today and had to go home.....I could not take a step without pain shooting through my right foot/leg. OUCH.
Came home and soaked my foot in an ice bath, hoping this knocks down the inflammation.
I have some great opportunities to run this summer, but this may put a quick end to those dreams.
Gonna take the next few days off and see how things look Monday/Tuesday. Gonna continue to lift weights, but I really do not want to give up the running.....it keeps me sane.

I know how you feel. I wish you a speedy recovery. I was going nuts for three months with my injury. I did get a lot more done at work though. :)
I hope you foot gets better. I know how painfull it is. I get in more in my one foot. Two things helped me a lot. One of them was getting a pair of green inserts called Superfeet, they are totally awesome. Also getting a real good stability shoe helps as well. Good luck and rest up your foot a bit so you go back on the road!
Besides the icing, try taping (you can check runners world - kinesio tape - I just posted a link to it on my blog), stretching the calves and think about your shoes (old, new, etc...) and wear shoes or sandals (with support) when you aren't running.
Good luck, it can be a painful nuisance to get through.
Ouch and you'll have all that time off from work....
Wow, that SUCKS. Hopefully you’ll be able to stretch it out and salvage the summer.
